Prince, WV

 Population 50, elevation 1,192 feet. The name honors a family long prominent in this section. C&O's modern station here, built in 1946 at a cost of $185,000 serves Beckley. Beckley was and is the focal point of approximately 200 mining communities where Smokeless coal, the bituminous fuel that the C&O transported was mined. The C&O's Piney Creek subdivision, that extends for 28.5 miles to Lester, WV, with additional mileage to Stone Coal Junction and Cranberry, WV joins the main at Prince.
